Creative direction, strategy and creative operations for five Central American and LATAM markets — a multidisciplinary team, and the first unit in the business to take client briefs into festival and effectiveness arenas.
The work itself cannot be shown. Tobacco advertising is prohibited in every market we operated in. What follows is the system that made five markets run as one, and the internal creative summit work it produced.
I joined DDB Colombia as a Copywriter in the Relationship Marketing unit. The account was British American Tobacco: five markets, and a category where every word is regulated.
Strategic thinking and close stakeholder work grew the account and the business performance. Client satisfaction moved from 5.5 to above 9, and the work moved me from Copywriter to Creative Director in under six months, the fastest advancement in the team.
I directed the team's operational flow and defined its way of work: a cross-functional operation across all five markets, with deployment, improvement and optimization running as one. That structure earned the team a first. We became the first unit in the business to take client briefs into festival arenas, contributing to DDB's regional and global Creative Summits and co-developing integrated campaign proposals with clients from multiple industries and countries.
Client satisfaction index from 5.5 to 9+. Promoted to Creative Director in under six months. Five regulated markets. First team in the unit competing in festival and effectiveness arenas under real client briefs.
